'The mind does some of its best wanderings when the body is at work.'

Jackson Fojut (2002) is a self-taught artist, in addition to being an Illustrator, whose creative production revolves around recording different states of being at different moments in time.
Fascinated with the idea of the wandering mind he seeks to convey, through figurative portraiture, the mentally and visually intimate moments of daydreaming, quiet contemplation, loneliness, longing, doubt, and the unconscious tendency for our mind to just check-out.

His work often revolves a dream-like or solitary state of being where the figure is abstracted with impasto and/or solvents in order to better personify the wandering mind. More-so focused on the emotional content of the figure rather than a narrative, he seeks to develop work that ties into ideas of free association, neo-classicism, absurdism, and expressionism.
